HOBONICHI SCHOOL

The school for adults, which had been held by Hobonichi Co., Ltd. as an event until then, is reborn as "Hobonichi School", a service centered on web-based distribution, a physical location functioning as a cultural complex facility meant for class recording and participation was built in the Kanda Port Building in Tokyo.
Kanda has a long history as a place for education, being the area where the University of Tokyo established itself, so we aimed to create a new sacred place of learning, adopting new materials and equipment, and working around the restrictions unique to existing renovations so that it will become a classic locale that is not affected by fashion and obsolescence, a suitable base for transmitting "education" in the future.
それまでイベント的に開催されていた「ほぼ日の学校」が、新たに「ほぼ日の學校」としてWEB配信中心のサービスへと生まれ変わるにあたり、授業収録や参加のためのリアルな場として文化複合施設 神田ポートビル内につくられました。
東京大学が創設される等、文教の地としての歴史ある神田にて、これからの「学び」を発信する拠点にふさわしいような、流行り廃りに影響を受けないクラシックとなるべく、既存改修ならではの制約の解決には新しい素材や設備を採用しながら、新しい学びの聖地づくりを目指しました。

Create a space where the people who learned here will feel warmly welcomed whenever they come back
ここで学んだ人たちがいつ戻ってきても温かく迎えられるような空間をつくる
Design to encourage students to enjoy the learning process, while understanding the historical context of this area of learning
学びの街としての歴史的文脈を読み解きながら、学ぶことを楽しむ後押しになるようなデザインを目指す
